Modern, similar to ballet, uses the body and movement to imitate subject and discovery. It tends to be more for the serious dancers, being both an abstract and controlled form of art. This free, expressive dance style came about in the early 20th century as a reaction to classical ballet. More recently, modern has begun to adopt elements not usually associated with dance such as speech and film. We are proud to offer a variety of modern classes for dancers of various skill levels.
